The meeting will provide an overall of the progress of the interim Committee since our last AGM then a break when attendees may join the Association and then vote in the second part of the meeting on agenda items.
We are grateful to the Moor Pool Heritage Trust and Nigel Bartram (Trustee) who now own the allotments and who have provided the allotment maps below. As we go forward there may be some changes to the allotment boundaries, and the details on these maps may not be entirely in line with your lease. Some of these allotments are also designated wildlife areas.
In 2007 Grainger plc used the upgrade of the conservation status of the Estate by a 4(2) Direction to introduce development plans for the Estate. These were to have a considerable impact on the allotments. Early in the proposals the Association requested a meeting with Grainger plc. Attached are minutes of the meeting. At the time the fact that site B had significant wildlife issue was not disclosed.
We saved many of the allotments and now we have a responsibility to look after those that remain. Below are a just a few of the documents that refer to the battle that was waged in 2006-2009 to save Moor Pools allotments from development by Grainger plc.
